Customer Service Weekly AI News

December 8 - December 16, 2025

This weekly update shows that AI helpers are changing how companies talk with customers. More than three-quarters of people around the world say they feel okay with AI answering their questions. During holiday shopping this year, 78% of shoppers in the United States met AI helpers at some point. These AI agents are super fast and help customers 24/7, but people still want to talk to real humans when things get tricky or they feel upset. In Brazil, the bank Banco Bradesco used new AI technology to help their teams give better service to customers. Another big finding shows that when AI systems switch customers to a real person, it often doesn't work smoothly—90% of business leaders say this is really hard to do right. Experts say the best way forward is using "agentic AI" which means letting smart AI helpers work together with humans instead of replacing them. Finally, when people talk to AI on the phone about insurance, 56% feel comfortable, but they still want an easy way to reach a person if something confuses them.
